Eastern Aerospace claims 5 hp gain?! *shrugs* how real is that?
http://photos.yahoo.com/bc/[email protected]/

Re: Moved the Horns.... (GShyneDM)

Finally someone who did it on a C70 with pictures! Looks good. Where exactly is this screw? I can't tell judging by the pic. ALso, did you have to jack up the car while doing this or is this something you can do with the car on the ground? How does it sound? Any different? What about water hazard? Sorry for all the questions.

Looks good. Could you feel any difference at all? Is your car running any cooler? Just curious, I'm gonna do that to my car soon and i am interested to know if there are any noticeable results, or if it only has the asthestic advantage cleaning up the front of the car when the hood is up. Thanks.

I had to jack up the car with a hydrolic lift thing... no way i would fit under the c70... maybe when i was younger hehehe
i sound sounds the same to me.. doesnt really sound different... maybe a little softer, as i dont think it gets as much air down there as when they were in the front. but also its on the driver's side.. so its closer to me.
water hazard is something i dont think will be a problem. given the wireing is like 4 inches from the botton painted (well whats left of the paint) panel. i hardly see any water spots in that area.... the only thing that might get water on the horns would either be a flood (yeah sure, in Southern Cali ) or driving in reverse in the rain at high speed. (btw..how fast can you go in reverse hehe)
im going to edit the pics.. and point out where the screws are.

I did notice the horn is not as loud as before...I guess it's just b/c the location and how you aim the horn. No worry...120 dB air horn is on the way. j/k.....

If you can do a small write-up that would be cool. I have the rest of the year off (ain't life grand? ) so I have plenty of time. I'm going to do my HIDs first though.

Yeah, Eastern quotes 5HP...this is BS. I moved mine because i didn't want them to show through my mesh grill from far away. The sounds is no different. It seems to run maybe half a notch cooler, not a big difference, bu as I said....I did it just for looks.

If not, some time this year still. As far as installation, probably the hardest is going to find a suitable place to mount the ballast. Mind you, the autolamps kit has only one, so one less thing to worry about. Other than that, it should be simple plug and play. I'll write a detailed write-up when done.

Re: Moved the Horns.... (GShyneDM)

Hey guys
I've always looked on Volvospeed and EA and saw there instructions for moving the horns. And now GShyneDM's way. I tried to do that and fish the wires down between the bumper and use screws that hold up a piece of the fender? and find how to fit the wires down there (I know what you mean when you say the biggest trouble is moving wires from place to place!) But had no lift, It's cold outside and the ground is cold and wet from all the rain. Plus i'm lazy. So i just put the horns in the engine bay. They are kinda wedged in between the battery on the dust cover for the headlights. Right now they are not secured (screwed) into anything. I closed the hood an tested them out - Seem to be just as loud to me! No wires to fish, plus, i dont have that one wire going over the bumper. And they are well protected. I hadn't seen anyone else do this, so I figure I'd try. I'm going to drive around and see if they are just as effective (somebody will cut me off, and i'll just lay on the horn ) and then if it works , i'll just find something to screw them into. It took about 10 minutes.

[Modified by c70pusher, 11:43 AM 12-14-2002]
