I'm not sure if there's something wrong with the monochrome display changing from black to green (who thought up that unattractive scheme?) when the light hits it but I notice that sometimes in daylight it will not change color. It takes a long time sometimes to change. Even turning the radio off and then on again will not always change it. Is this how it is or do I need to get this checked out?

Re: Monochrome Daylight/Twilight display on radio (irbrenda)

It generally takes about 10 seconds of light or darkness to change the contrast from one to the other (I assume so that it's not flashing back and forth everytime you drive under a shadow). If it's taking any longer than that, there may be something wrong with the sensor. Try cleaning it off and see if that helps at all (it's the red light on top of the dash that flashes when you lock the car).<p>

one forummember @volvo-forum.nl has changed the setting that the display is always dark ... his dealership supported him with the software ...
