Momo shift knob & Volvo boot pics

Used the info from Heico knob install post + posts from the R forum. Did not have to cut off the T-bar thing that the stock knob locks on to. Only creative part is securing the boot to the shaft because the stock snap-ring thing is too small for the momo base or momo finisher. Just electical taped the inside of the boot to the shaft so nothing would protrude.

I know all of the instructions say to squeeze below the stock knob & pull down to get the boot off, but that didn't work for me because the snap ring was electrical taped shut so it wouldn't unlatch. Just removed the stock boot first and then took off the knob....much easier.

Think I need some pedals now........

Very nice...
so, ok... how did you get the knob off? I've asked before on the forum, and have received official instructions, but I still couldn't get it off.

You just push straight down really hard with one hand until you can feel it click, then with your other hand turn it counter-clockwise (like a big child-proof medicine bottle)....lifts right off after that.

As far as feel it is great. Everyone has their own preference though....I like this style because you can still give it that light shifting touch the gearbox likes. That reflective strip on the boot only shows up with the flash.....it just looks like silver tubing with regular light.
