Anyone here done a side view mirror transplant? I have never liked the dinky side view mirrors on the 2005-2006 S40/V50. I've been wanting to swap mine for the 2007+ larger mirrors. Today I was fortunate to find some in really good shape and in Passion Red at the bone yard. Anyone here done this swap?

Wow, thanks for posting that. I had forgotten but you can see I'v been wanting to do this for a while (since my first '05 V50). My transplant mirrors are from 2007. I know that the 2008 face-lift made a lot of changes that we don't realize, especially with the doors. It will be interesting to see how the wiring may differ between 2005 and 2007 vs 2005 and 2008. I didn't realize that I'll have to give up the puddle lights. I kind of like them.

By the way, the link didn't initially work but I figured it out... https://forums.swedespeed.com/showt...sign-Door-Mirror-Upgrade-on-05-05-model&amp=1

Hey Stan, this is something I've been wanting to do as well.

Here are a couple other threads to go with the one you found:

IIRC, you just need to drill an extra hole into the door for the FL mirrors to fit. You had mentioned that you swapped the door modules when you did the FL door panel swap right?

Since the mirrors plug into the door module, I assume that if they're both from the same year, you shouldn't have to do any re-pinning.

Thanks for the additional threads. I did swap the door cassettes (window regulator). However, I used my 2005 DDM and PDM.

I used a 2006 door when I had to replace it on my 2007. I cut off the nub that didn't have a hole and it worked perfectly. I just used a hack saw and it took like 1 minute haha.
