My driver's side view mirror delaminated from the base and heating element- I fixed it by applying silicone to the back of the mirror and clamping the parts together to dry. I couldn't get the wires for the heating element free from the connectors, so I just left the mirror parts on the car clamped to dry. $3 is a lot cheaper than the appx $86 it would take to order new mirror glass!

There are options to get "stick on" pieces of mirror which are already pre-cut in the correct size and stick over your current mirror should the silicone solution not work in all cases. You can usually find them on ebay for around 10 bucks. It also might be a great chance to upgrade to the blind spot mirrors which are worth the money! (Not to be confused with BLIS)

I'm surprised that Volvo (Ford/PAG?) went with a design like this- most other cars have mirror glass that's fitted into the frame somehow.
