Found out today that my blue xc90 that was supposed to be delivered to our dealer in Ohio was on that ship - the dealership lost two xc90's in total along with one other car. He stated he should know by the end of tmw what is going to be done - I'll let you know more later - argh just frustrating after all this waiting Merry xmas to me

Bah humbug! But on the bright side, various posters have indicated that dealers seem to have some unclaimed T6's floating around. If your order was a T6, it may not take too long to find you another similarly equipped. Good luck!

and more from vvspy:
TinCup posted Dec 19 20:12
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
My dealership called to tell me they matched the VIN# of my Crystal Green T6. It was lost at sea. Apparently the RSC system isn't fool proof after all.
They gave me a list of cars they had 'available' and I expect to take delivery of a Silver 2.5T with the climate/premium/versatility packages tomorrow. It arrived almost a week ahead of schedule and I will take delivery of it two full weeks before I expected my 'original' order. I was torn between the economy of the 2.5T and the power of the T6. Well, the English channel helped clear up that debate.
The car I plan to receive was part of an 'unsold' allotment my dealer ordered. Other dealerships may also have ordered some cars that weren't pre sold. For those of you who were impacted by the lost shipment or are deep on the waiting list - flexibility is key. That and checking with the dealership on a regular basis. I don't think they really know what will show up on their lot from day to day right now. Keep calling and you might move up.

and Edmunds:
#829 of 833 VOLVO XENONS by lenij Dec 18, 2002 (05:55 pm)
in response to inquiries about xc90's with xenons, i would say there are a few out there now. in fact, my dealer called me last week if i would like to take a t6 complete with bi-xenons and premium package (instead of the 2.5 that i've ordered). however, i declined his offer when he told me it'll cost me an extra 5-6 grand. so, i'm back to my 2.5t.
