I'm finally getting around to installing my tires. What do you guys think of the price and the tire itself.
Believe it or not the Volvo dealership is offering this price.

Assuming this is for an 18" PS2, not bad. Costco is $1,040 installed. Great tire!
Regards,
Derek
Would I be correct to assume these are PS2s and not the original PS?

Price probably includes Max HP summer tires in 235/40/18s plus mount & balance & taxes .
I dont' know, but for that kind of money, I would get the Avon M500s or something just as good. Michs seems to be overrated in my opinion! Doesn't Conti sportcontact2 comes on many high performance sedans, (i.e S6s & AMGs)? I'm having good experiences with Continentials

I recently priced the PS2's and I believe they were around $1450 at NTB. That price included lifetime rotation, balance and the accidental insurance or whatever it is called. I also believe I could actually buy them a little cheaper as when I replaced my wifes ML320's Michelins I was able to negotiate the price down on the tires and a three year alignment package which was transferable to our XC90. They also had coupons that I used which save a little more.

Have you ever had a set on your car? You should take a look at this article.
Of the Contis, Car and Driver said the following:
"On dry surfaces, the Conti never rose above third from last among 11 tires. It felt soft and imprecise, two qualities not in the vocabularies of performance tires. Geswein grouped it with the other 'dull and disconnected' tires."
Of the PS2s, they said:
"Perhaps the most interesting revelation was how similar the tire felt in water and on dry pavement. Regardless of the level, the PS2 provided crisp turn-in response and a gradual loss of grip as the driver exceeded the tire's cornering capabilities."
-Eric

If not then that is why you guys pay so little for mounting and balancing. I have a local shop that I have been going to for years. It is 160.00 for mount (match mount if needed) and road force balancing on a set of 18's. 19's are 200.00. Small price to pay for the comfort of having a perfectly balanced set of tires.
