Is anyone interested in planning/setting up a GTG in the Detroit area? I know there was one last year at IKEA Canton. I'm new to the Volvo scene, so I'm not sure if I'd be the person to do it, but if you're interested, write a reply. Maybe we can get something going.

There are a ton of Volvos in the Detroit Area too. There has to be some interest. Although, every time I see an R, it's some person who doesn't really know what they are sitting behind, and then they look at me funny for driving next to them... Oh Well

yes, i'm definitely interested. I was going to post a thread about this a few days ago. I know what you mean about the volvo drivers around here, i've tried giving waves and head nods but i get nothing in return. hopefully we can get even a better turn out than last year's IKEA meet.

it has nothing to do w/ the R, and everything to do w/ the fact that they live in Detroit.....

Detroit, Northville, Novi, Livonia, Farmington Hills, Birmingham, just a bunch of stuck up snobs that look at their volvo as just a car.... so sad.

A lot of people look at the cars as just a car.... It is sad.. But there also isn't much out there in terms of modifying your Volvo (not like a Mustang or Civic).. I bet if there were more performance parts, and cheaper parts, there would be more people

Well lets try and find a central location for neighboring chapters then. I know we have a few guys from chicago, ohio, and indiana, even canada that might be able to take a day and hang out. I know it may not be like Carlisle, but maybe we can get a good turnout.

well Kochisp, just troll the forums like the rest of us hehe. It looks like summer is in full swing now, so i think we should all put our heads together and start figuring out a date and time for a GTG. IKEA was a pretty good location last year, if anyone has any suggestions of other locations that'd be great. Lets try and get something together within the next couple of weeks, i'll cross post on volvospeed, see if we cant get some of those guys interested too.
