Anyone know if there are any full metal IC piping kits for 2.5T models?
I saw Tiny rev his T5 engine and saw the plastic IC pipe that goes over the engine kinda suck in on its self under boost. im sure that is not as good as having metal IC piping....am I right?

Also, it wouldn't make sense for the pipe to collapse under boost, first, it possibly could happen with vaccum, but if it's boosting, the pipe would be as full as possible, and would, if anything, expand. Second, the pipe isn't that weak where it would collapse/expand with a stock S60 turbo. Honestly, I wouldn't worry about it.
The only part of the IC system that has rubber hoses that might need replacing would be before the charge pipe, which connects directly to the turbo, and after the charge pipe which connects to the intercooler. THe rest of the system is plastic.

I'd probobly charge somewhere between $200-$300, which would be mostly for supplies. I could also consider doing a full intercooler piping kit. I would want to see the interest in it before i make anything pertinent. I'll have to start a thread about it.

Thanks for the responses...I know turbo cars...but don't know a lot of the real mechanical stuff with them though. Glad someone does ;-)

The upper charge pip coming right off the turbo is 2.0", and the pipe that is connecting to the intake manifold is 3".

I'd be interested. If you make a thread about it, you should be able to gauge some interest.

I hope your feelilng ons doing an IC kit have changed a lot since....this the other day

Quote, originally posted by cmurphy2266 »

Quote, originally posted by Paysts »
You should sell the intercooler piping as a kit.
I didn't do the welding myself, I simply fabbed it up and sent it out. I'm really not in the best position to do that. As much as I want to help out other Volvo guys, I really can't sell the piping, and really wouldn't financially feasible for me to sell it. If someone wanted me to make it for them, I would certainly consider it, or if someone wanted me to help them with the install, I would be more than happy to help.
