Hey Dave,
starting with 2003 models, Volvo will allow orders for non-sunroof cars, any model.
So, you have no excuse now for not buying a Volvo!
Yannis

Wow, they shouldn't have. Hey, I admit I'm an odd bird in that regard and I think I'm the only one in the country that doesn't have one on both my S80 and S60, (my wife doesn't like 'em either.)
But still, I'm stunned.
No way. Yannis, are you just saying that? Or is that confirmed with Volvo HQ?
Yikes. Are you saying I could actually order an S60r now?
Oh my . . . . . . .

I thought at first I was the only one that carped about the sunroof situation, but I remember a conversation I had with the TDS coordinator in NJ about the folks in Texas who lamented about the sunroofs, too. Seems like a sunroof in Texas was a waste of money becuase there were so very few days when it either didn't rain or was so blazing hot that you had to leave the sunroof closed to let the A/C work. (There was a guy on the Car & Driver Forum from Houson that--by gar--he was going to open the sunroof but he had to get the A/C going full blast and he had to have enough speed to keep the air circulating.)
So I might not be the only one. Maybe. It could happen.

I received my allocation of 2003 models, today and (of course) I had to modify over 95% of the orders. I did order a couple of non-sunroof cars. Not too many, because they do not lease out well (Volvo subtracts 2% off the std. residual value for a car without a sunroof, so it is almost a no-cost option).
I ordered a non-sunroof S60 AWD and a non-sunroof S60 T5 manual.
Yannis

Why no roof? In all the cars I've ever had, they've always leaked, or rattled, or both. So why pay for an option that ticks me off? :) I don't miss it one tiny bit.

I believe in Europe (or at least in Germany,) one either has the option of a sunroof OR air-conditioning, it is almost unheard of having both. I guess it makes sense, but here in America, we get what's important, both the roof AND the A/C. Nevermind the manual transmission 850Rs, we don't need those!
