I have an installed Sirius Satellite Radio receiver in my new used car. I would like to hook up an IPod. I'm familar iMIV but do not really care if I control the IPod with the head unit. Can I just run an audio line from the IPod to the Melbus audio pins? I read somewhere pins 6 and 7 are the analog audio line on the Melbus connector. Would seem the head unit would just think the satellite signal was coming in and play the spliced in IPod audio? Figure I can do this for the cost of the spare parts in toolbox.

Re: MELBUS Audio Pins (kevinbell)

The audio signal on the MELBUS is not an analog signal. If it were this easy, I can assure you that the iMIV would not exist.
MELBUS is a proprietary protocol, the only way to get an aux input with the HU-613, 650,803,850 is with an adapter, like the iMIV.
Is the sat receiver the oem accessory?
