Medusas on a V50

Any issues with 18" OEM Medusas fitting the V50? Can I use stock lug bolts? Thanks!

yes you can. they are a beauty on a 50.
i got an s40 T5 and they look orig and perfect look.
i used my orig bolt from the 17's before

Volvo recommends 215/45 tires on medusas, along with a speedometer computer update for the different size and steering limiters to eliminate rubbing.

That said, most people (myself included), go with 225/40s and stay within 1% of the stock speedometer reading, get no update, and no steering limiters, and have no problems... Volvo wants their $$$ though, so they'll tell you what's "necessary."

Are you saying that the dealer can adjust the speedometer? Because I was told by my local dealer they can't, and every other place I have looked into has said they can't do it and don't know where I could get it done...

The speedometer is adjustable within a fairly wide range, by software download. In effect, the tire diameter is programmed.

Then how do I go about getting a dealer to do this for me? My dealer, indie repair guy, and many other places have said they can't do it...

Any dealer with VIDA is physically capable of updating the tire size in the computer. Mentally capable might be a different story, like the dealers who say they can't disable DRLs...

Only your dealer is likely to be able to do it, due to having to contact the mothership for the download.

To help them, here is a software part number to allow calibration for the rather odd 215 45 18 size recommended by Volvo:

Other sizes are, however, eminently programmable.

my only "issue" with Medusas on a V50 is that they turned me from a 98 lb weakling getting sand kicked in his face to a chick magnet!

disclaimer , results not typical.. kidding aside, if you like these, I could give you a nice deal. I have these as my Winter combo, but since I'm moving to Florida, I'll no longer need an 18" Winter Wheel/Tire package rated to 150 mph . Shipping will be very reasonable from my APO (same as from NY)

admit... might be overkill for VT but this has been my ultimate autobahn winter package.

oh... to answer your questions... IMO they look great, stock lugs? as long as your stock wheels were Aluminum (I believe ALL north american cars come with Alu wheels if I'm not mistaken) so yes

Bummer, I had the same problem with my atreus'. I hear they have meds for that though.
