I'd like to pick up a set and swap the 5-spokes that come on my incoming V50 to winter duty. These seem to have never come on any Volvo's stock, but were a dealer accessory: is that correct? Is there any other place to pick up a set without having to get divorced ($600 per wheel - ouch)?

Thanks for the links and the possible lead - sub-$400 is getting close to doable. Although upgrading to 18's seems to be a bit of a PIA. Volvo recommends extra "stoppers" & "limiters" - blech.

You could always go the replica route... Seems like it would work out for you. Just pop out the center caps while you're not using them and alternate between sets... What do you think about these?

They'd save you a bunch of money, and I like Eurosport. They are a very reputable company...

I got my Medusa's from Volvo of Dallas for $500 plus $200 rebate from Volvo. So, I ended up paying about $75 per wheel. I believe the rebates are still valid until September 30. http://********************/smile/emthup.gif

Where did you get your Medusa's from and where can I find the rebate? I did a quick search but didn't come up with anything but old threads. Thanks

Try Boston Volvo, they are one of our Swedespeed sponsors and have links on many pages here. I shopped around with many dealers and internet sites, found the lowest price, printed out the info and took it to Volvo of Dallas. They matched the price. http://********************/smile/emthup.gif

I still have a used set of medusas w/ tires for sale. Been busy so haven't been very proactive in trying to sell them. It appears I am not located very far from you. Let me know if you are interested.

God I love medusas. Thinking about picking some up for next summer. Only problem is that would make my serapis winter wheel?? Seems like a shame, cause I really like them.. Damn you Volvo.

No need for those extras Volvo calls for unless you use their recommended tire size of 215/45/18. Just run a 225/40/18 and you're golden.

Really? But you must have needed the new software to correct speedometer, right? With 215's, it's pretty off.

oh yeah, 215 45 18 = 25.4" OD where as 225 40 18 are right on stock 25" OD , I think this threw my speedometer off by like 2 maybe 3 % , so when the speedometer shows 100 , I was doing 102-103.

I didn't bother because I was running a 225 40 18 for summer.

I had a vid of 155 mph with my winter 215 45 18 sans corrected speedometer software. (in reality 158-159!)

Wow! Didn't know our cars could go that fast! I figured they had a limiter...
