98 S70 GLT 115k miles <p>OBD returns code for Manifold Absolute Pressure/Barometric pressure low input. <p>I'm told that the MAP sensor most likely failed and needs to be replaced. <p>Is this an item that is only available thru the Volvo dealer? <p>If there are any other cheaper sources for OEM parts like this, can someone point the way? <p>How hard is it to replace? <p>Thanks.

Re: MAP sensor question (kenb)

It's attached to the inner finder right behind the passenger side headlight...the sensor that is sort of triangular in shape (however I have seen in VADIS where on some cars it is actually under the throttle body area so make sure on your car). Looks to me that it would be easy to replace....unblot, disconnect and connect the new one up. I would disconnect the battery while I did this to be on the safe side...make sure you have your radio code. Volvo part number is #6842539 in case it's needed.
