Just saw they updated the app with car location finally. This was unavailable for AAOS vehicles previously. So promising that we’ll get more in the future!

It's still better than nothing. There are many other features that they need to add in the app starting with the log feature (consumption, car range, service intervals etc).
Indeed... the list is long.. very long... about 10 years long compared to my previous car
Perhaps they will do something about it that will not require to change the car in a year :)

just look it up on google maps on your phone or desktop, and it will show up in the car as a recent search, has never been easier.
Yeah, I think you're missing the point. The issue is not about sending addresses to your car from your phone or desktop - the issue is using the map feature so you can locate your car. Let's say, for example, you went out to eat and you forgot to make a note of the sidestreet that you parked your car on.

I actually didn't think of that. However, I do have a separate account for the car so that I should remember to make a search when on that account.
Thanks for the tip!

No no.. not missing the point, just find it of little use, for me of course...

Right, but I wasn't responding to you I was responding to the earlier point that looking it up on google maps would have the same function. It won't.

With regard to the search in google maps, I think a lot of us have multiple google accounts. Just make sure that, when you search in maps or the desktop, that you are using the same account as your car. I make that mistake all the time.

I know it's not the real solution, but there is a workaround for finding your car in Google maps.
Save where you're parked
You can save your parking location so you can remember where you left your car.
  1. On your Android phone or tablet, open the Google Maps app
    Maps
    .
  2. Tap the blue dot that shows your location.
  3. Tap Save your parking.
Your parking location will be saved in Google Maps until you remove it.
