It rained today for the first time in a long while. There was about 1 inch of water floating around the passenger side floor (front and back seats) after heavy rains soaked my car today in the parking lot.
I ripped up the carpet in the front, under the glove compartment, to find what appeared to be a loose water drain line nipple connection that belongs in a drain port located in the floor/side wall (see picture, you can see the nipple easy, the drain hole is sitting directly underneath the hose/nipple).
I confirmed water comes out of there after soaking my car with the garden hose for a while. Water trickles out of it slightly while the care is at a stand still, but comes rushing out when i give it some gas. My assumption is that the outside "rain" water collects in a reservoir behind the glove comp and drain at this line??
Can someone confirm what the purpose of this hose is? Where the hose comes from you can also see some electrical wires making me believe it is pump not just a reservoir. Besides water exiting from the line, there is also a good amount flowin down the side walls onto the floor from behind the glove compartment. No clue whats happening there? Also, the hose may have come loose when I was ripping up the carpet so that hose may not even be the main cause of the flooding.
I know it is rain water because it has no smell, and only flows when I hose the car down from the exterior.
Taking the car to the dealer tomorrow. Any input in the mean time, it is supposed to rain more?
Thanks, N
http://i280.photobucket.com/al...1.jpg

Re: Major water leakage inside the ride - HELP (The Sickness)

I believe that is the drain that comes from the cowl air intake right above it. That is the source of the air intake for the HVAC blower fan.
It may also tie into the drain for the sun roof, but that is speculation on my part.

i put the tube back on, made sure it is sealed, and still some major leaking. it is very difficult to see up there, so i am hoping it is a loose connection
