Can't seem to figure this out. There is a rubber ring with squared shoulders, but with a groove cut through the circumference of it. Isolates the shifter shaft from the plastic spaceball. The groove allows this thing to fit into the plastic spaceball. If ya follow the shifter shaft down to the silver plastic of the spaceball, you'll see it. It's half exposed at all times, but there's seemingly no part number!! Anybody know what to do?

Without it, the shifter shaft hits the hard plastic of the spaceball and makes a noise. No biggie, but it's a kinda stupid prob...

Use a grommet, that’s what I did. Had a pack of grommets of various sizes I got from advanced auto. One was a perfect fit
