First order of business, it's in dire need of a PCV service.

Clearly someone has been in here before, recentlyish too, box was new genuine Volvo, but supplemented with inferior junk! Do it right the first time. Further investigation showed the wrap around hose totally broken (plastic). Fixed it with some of the double blue line Volvo stuff.

Ahh! Much better.

Next up, some chassis improvements. I decided to swap all the suspension out from my 850 since it will be sitting for the foreseeable future. Yellow springs + Sachs up front, overload springs with Sachs in the rear.

Also added the rear bar of @ScottishBrick's old car. This car has parts from 2 different CT cars now...

NedCar sub that I had in the R before I was supplied with the factory P2 one fits nicely back here.

Eventually it will get Dynaudio everywhere, contrary to recent arguments the paper speakers are trash. Currently sporting dynaudio in the front and rear tweeters. Dolby dash also in it's future.

Finally time to let this Wagon do some work. Christmas tree shopping!

Tire Wheel Car Land vehicle Vehicle

Let's talk about the glaring cluster f*ck that is this wagon's roof rack. Somewhere along its life an aftermarket roof rack was installed, which required bolts THROUGH the roof 🤦‍♂️🤦‍♂️🤦‍♂️ It really frustrates me since factory rails are readily available. For now it will be removed and the bolts reinstalled as flush as possible with some form of sealing. Eventually holes will be welded and roof painted. I also have a wing on hand that just needs painted.

Evaporator is leaking, dash mounts broken so it needs an interior out service basically.

Overall I'm pretty happy with it, and dare I say... I radically prefer it to the 850. Refinement.

Love the comets, looks fantastic. Subscribed

Did you have any fitment issues with the rear IPD bar? I have a rear IPD bar on my s70 and my OBX exhaust rattles sometimes at idle or coming to/leaving a stop in 1st or reverse. We cannot find where its rattling against, did you have any of this after install? Could be combo of larger pipe diameter and the big flat part of the IPD bar

I did not, but it should be noted this one is very vintage, probably around early to mid 2000s. Evidently there are a few issues with the newer ones.

It’s hitting the delta link, you won’t find the interference off the ground.

Sweet Ride ! You and I might have the only white P80 V70 T5's in Tennessee.
Probably the two nicest too, the quality of most Volvos here is 📉

Nice work so far!
One piece of advice moving forward on these p80s.
Prior to replacing the PCV, run some BG additive so that it liquifies everything built up in the ports.
So when you do replace it, there is less of that gunk you have to clear out.
Run it at 1200 rpms for about 30 min.

Run the EPR with the oil, then when PCV is done and new oil is in, add the MOA.
They make some great products. A lot of dealerships use them.

As a dealer tech I can confirm we don’t do this because all of the sludge washes down into the pan and then gets sucked into the pickup, seen it several times. Best way is to use a right angle pick to dig it out towards you, or pull the pan.

Gotcha not doubting you. I’ve seen both volvo and bmw dealerships use it. A master volvo tech recommended it to me a number of years back. I’ve had good luck with their products, but to each their own. I only had to do the oil pan o-rings on one Volvo, a 98 v70r I had about 10 years ago (before I knew about bg stuff).
