I am looking to lower my daily driver 2006 T5 AWD V50. I don't want to get too crazy with the suspension (at least not yet ) just sport springs on the OE shocks/struts. I have seen Eibach and Heico springs that will work for the AWD models, H&R looks like FWD only (which sucks because I like the ride of H&Rs). Are there any other options for AWD that you know of or advantages to Heico over Eibach???
Thanks in advance!!!

Re: Lowering springs for 2006 V50 T5 AWD??? (5-speedc70)

I really like my blue evolve springs, and they will actually be up for sale as soon as I can get my coilovers on in the next few weeks. They give the most drop for springs available to our cars, 1.5" front and 1.4" rear. Check out the Seattle GTG Picture thread to see the ride height. I think they are the best option for AWD because the stock height is SUV status.

Re: Lowering springs for 2006 V50 T5 AWD??? (carreragt7)

I just checked out the Evolve website, the springs are about $50 cheaper than Heico and about 7mm lower .......but they don't say anything about being a progressive rate spring, which probably means they are a linear rate spring like Eibach (good for chill driving but mushy in the corners).
carreragt7 your S40 looks sweet in those GTG pics are those wheels 18"s

They are 19"s. I like the ride of the springs, seem to do fine in corners and regular driving. Actually kind of scared of going to my coilovers as they will be much harsher...

What about all the Damaged AWD CV-Joints etc. & Torn Boots - some have Reported ?
Seems a .80 - to 1.00 would be Safer in that Aspect ?

Re: Lowering springs for 2006 V50 T5 AWD??? (5-speedc70)

i just picked up the Eibach Pro Kit for my AWD. i will be installing in the next two weeks, as well as a custom exhaust done by an awesome local shop. the Eibachs say they will lower 1.2" front and rear - but we'll see. they are also a progressive spring. anything is better than the stock setup. i think i'll be fine with my current shocks, but in a few thousand i'll probably go with some shorter shocks. i will update with pics when it happens.
Eibach was my answer because they go lower than the OEM kit and apparently lower than the H&Rs. Plus i picked them up from the Eibach distributor myself to avoid the shipping cost!
