don't opt for the "xtravision" or coated bulbs. they're overdrive and last only ~200 hours. they also get you barely brighter.
Could not agree more! I tried these on a previous car but was turned off with the short service life. At one point I had one of these on one side and the OEM on the other and couldn't tell the difference.

But be aware installing higher wattage bulbs will produce more heat. Hopefully the designed heat tolerance of the socket and lamp assembly is not that marginal that this would make a difference but melting is a possibility with additional heat.
 
10 watts may not seem like much but that is almost a 20% increase heat and almost an amp increase in current. Agreed the wiring most likely can handle this increase in current but the CEM drives the headlights in these cars. I don't think I would risk damaging the headlight driver electronics by pulling an additional amp through it.
