Just picked up my '90 from volvo of fort washington last Thursday to replace my '08 Touareg for the third row. Car has really impressed me...handles very well (feels very similar to my friend's Cayenne S/X5 4.8) and the red is out of sight. All of the interior details are also very nice and the Vulcan rims are sharp. The 6 appears to be getting stronger as she breaks in, still not as quick as my XC70, but plenty of passing power and the handling really makes it an enjoyable vehicle. The car is very tight, and the overall fit and finish is up there with most anything I've driven recently (MB/BMW etc). Good job Volvo!. Does not feel like a 6 year old platform. This is my first 90, and I will say that for young kids is a fantastic setup with storage, seat movement etc. Besides the GL450, its perhaps the only third row I feel comfortable putting kids in.
I seem to be averaging 20.5/21 MPG.
I think its a ton of car for the money, especially with the current incentives. I could not be happier with it and have to highly recommend Volvo of FW - Tim and Kevin are great guys.

So we're seriously considering putting in an order TOMORROW for this one ... one question though. I read on here somewhere that it is lacking a spare.... is that for real???? Is there truly no spare?

But they will give you a handy liquid tire repair kit

Post some pics of it when you get time. The Passion Red is flat out awesome, my wife gets comments on hers all the time and you don't see them around every corner, which is nice.

Early US market 3.2 R-Designs had no spare, just a repair kit. The spare tire was reintroduced on US market 3.2 R-Design as a running change.

Bump... XC90 3.2 R-designs produced from W46 onwards (mid-November2008) now do have the temporary spare instead of the tire inflation kit. So if you are indeed ordering one, it will have a spare. If it is coming out of port or Retailer inventory, it will depend on when it was built.

You guys were faster than my dealer btw. He hadn't ever been asked about the spare so he had to call to find out. The order is in and delivery is anticipated by mid-July!

Question - if they put a temp spare, will the 3.2 still have dual ie split exhaust port in the back.

XC90 R-design 3.2 does not have the dual exhaust found on the V8. Twin pipes exiting from one side of the rear bumper.
