Hi

I was side tracked with another vehicle and l'm ready to get back to my V70.

I am aware Volvo is having a rebate sale ($50) on the rails but what should l be looking to pay for rails before the rebate?

Thanks

Re: Looking to add euro roof rails v70 2002 any deals out there? (kingman)

Alan,
Do your research.
Try http://www.fpgroton.com and other parts houses before you go to the dealer.
Also check http://www.erievovo.com for some used ones
(How's the Corvette doin')?

Hi

The vette is really a dream until l get the next one. I'm sure your bride is enjoying hers!

I tried that parts house and zippo.

Volvo is having a $50 rebate and l should receive a 15% discount for parts and labor.

Theu wanted approx $525 installed. So if it will cost me $400 l will have them put it on.

I learned a valuble lesson, let the pro's do it.

Just put a 12 CD changer into my vette from GM/Delco.

I am new here. We have owned a few Volvos in the past (mostly 740 and 850 series). We recently bought a certified 2002 V70 wagon for our youngest daughter.

I want to surprise her with roof rails (roof rack) for her V70. Is Volvo really having a rebate on accessories? How do you find out? Ask at local dealer, I was just there today to pick up some parts and did not see any kind of ad or banner advertising the sale.

And, do you know the average discount dealer offer on parts to VCOA members?

Thanks in advance.

Volvo is having the sale and they are selling them for approx $300.

The problem is putting them on, you have to take off some exterior molding and cutting it.

The parts dept should have the rebate forms, they are good until the end of Aug.

Red Bank Volvo is a new supporting dealer, you can find them on this thread.

If you are handy JRL has a set that he can sell you, used but in good condition.

Taking the molding off is a piece of cake. It snaps right off. Cut it accordingly and there you go. I don't know how to mount the rails though. But if you can find out how they do it, it's a DIY job.

Measure twice and cut once!

I bought mine from http://www.autowebaccessories.com for my '02 T5. They were around $320 I believe.

Installation isn't too difficult. Take off the molding... measure according to the instructions and make 6 cuts on each piece. I used a Dremmel with a fiberglass cut-off wheel and that worked great. The rack covers the cut, so it doesn't have to be absolutely perfect (you probably have about 1/2" margin of error for each cut minimum) The rails install with two Torx screws on each pillar (6 screws total on each side) You'll find this takes about two hours to do carefully. I'm NOT good with tools and it wasn't of low to medium difficulty for me.
