Newbie here . . . I searched the forum posts first, but I could not find an exact match answer to my question so here it goes . . .

Question: can I take seat belts from another (74-93) 240 and transplant them in there?

I have a 75 245 (wagon). The seat belts looked like they had not been used in the past 15 years when we bought it from a single gal. Problem is I have three young children who I want to keep safe in the back seat.

The driver's seat belt works, but the passenger does not, ditto for the two rear retractable 3 point seat belts.

I took them apart to see what could be cleaned, but I think that after 36 years they are ready to quit. Currently I cannot drive the car because I cannot put my kids in there safely so I am using the pick up truck which is no where near as efficient.

Any help on parts compatibility would be great, places to order Volvo used parts on line, or any other advice.

Thank you,

Donovan

Any 240 non-airbag wagon seat belts would work but you would need to re-web everything and rebuild the mechanicals which is what you would need to do for the existing belts.

gdill2,

Is there a kit for that? How about a service bulletin on how to do that? I just do not want to guess and risk injury with the kids.

Thank you

Call around to your local auto body shops and ask where they get new seat belt webbing...

Once you have the new webbing on-hand return to this thread and click on the below links.
