Looking to put the flat out smoothest riding shocks on my S80. I will keep the springs stock.
My S80 is a tourer (that a word?) so I was thinking something from bilstein is in order.
I'm just looking for the crem de la crem of quality shocks that will make my ride in the S80 even smoother than what the stock shocks do.
Any opinions out there?
Tim

Re: Looking for smooth ride (t6tim)

Not really.
There may be some Bilsteins available, not sure, ask ipd.
If not, just put some new stock shocks and a set of 16" touring (soft & quiet) tires)
Make sure all your links, and tie rods, etc. are 100%

Re: Looking for smooth ride (JRL)

i found the stock setup to be the most 'comfortable'. but it was also the most hmm, what's the word... loose? well it sure seemed to float (like a boat). so if that's what you were after i would leave it stock, maybe it you have significant milage on it replace the shocks. i personally liked the Bilstein HD's on a stock spring for the most part while i had that setup. but i would put anti-sway bars ahead of shocks just to even out the stock setup.
