So I'm riding down I-4 and I switch cds...and the cd player magazine gets stuck outside the player. Ever since I got it back in.....it hasn't played a cd since. So I'm looking for advice on what to do about this problem. I've found a used SC-901 in a junkyard nearby with a year warranty, but I'm wondering what other options I have with the aftermarket world. Another question I have is does the SC-901 really play burnt cds because mine never did? THANKS

You can go baller

7" touch screen with DVD player and NAV
with dual amps one 4channel for the doors and one 500watt mono for the sub
or just get a signel din replacement headunit from crutchfield and go .
Simmpley enough you can use almost any headunit on the market .
But I woudl suggest this , and what I did with my coupe
Sell the stock stuff
Then buy a Alpine PDx5 amp
that gives you 4x100 and 1x300
also get a aftermarket head unit
Then run 3 sets of coax wires to the rear of the car from the headunit so you have left right front rear and sub.
That way you can have full control of everythign and upgrade the system to where it was susposed to be

Yeah, the Volvo stereos are impressive as far as factory stereos go, but they still can't hold a candle to even a mid-grade aftermarket setup. And in 2009, your options are endless. MP3, DVD, Nav, Bluetooth, all built in to the car stereo.
I'm just running a single DIN head unit through the factory amp and speakers. Haven't added a sub yet. Crappy pic for reference:

Re: Looking for SC-901 Solution (adale)

I have to agree that going with an aftermarket HU does have some advantages. The replacement 901 from the JY is not new and will most likely not read burnt CD's well. If you listen to CD's mostly then go this route. I keep all my music on my Ipod Touch so the CD part never gets used. If you do not want to make your car louder just buy a DIN adapter to keep your factory system the same or add amps as the others have suggested. My advice would be to pick up a second C70 100x4 amp and have both hooked up. Now you have ~300x4 setup that will definitely rock for probably less than 100$. All you would need to do is run a power wire back and get a male 6pin DIN plug for the second amp.
