Not that I would do this or even think it looks good, but volvo sells a hood scoop, pre-painted for the c30. Check it out:
http://www.trademotion.com/par...=5365
Its steep in price...$340!

Makes me wanna puke just thinking about it.
What are people thinking putting these fake scoops and side vents on?! Not only does it look tacky but it also worsens the fuel economy by disturbing the airflow.... simply horrible

For the unbeatable price of just $340.00 you can appear to be having your Volvo Engine Force fed with air... Looks cheap and crappy if you ask me... I rather spend my money at Evolve than consider buying that...

Vents yes, scoop, no.
For the unbeatable price of free, you can remove the weather stipping on the back of the engine bay, and increase venting.

I refuse to believe this is a Volvo product. If it is, it will wildly alter many of my perceptions of the world.

What's so bad about it, besides the actual look? It will obviously feed cool air into the bay and cool everything down.

Well as long as you cut the hood under the vent, it will be functional.

You'd really put something that looks like an ape's ass on your hood? It's not even functional!
"...designed to appear to be force feeding air into the engine bay..."
There's a very old thread on this topic actually. I could see a Legacy-type, functional hood scoop working on the R. It would have to be sculpted into the hood but it might not look bad....

But, that's a lot different than the detritus you linked to in your post.
Just my $.02,
-Eric

i would not do that to the R, but I don't mind it on the subarus'
i also don't mind the evolve hood vent (provide the color is a good fit for the car)
i like the clean lines of the R

Crap. I didn't know you guys felt this way. I should've read this before I ordered both of them.
Seriously, this isn't a Subaru with a top-mounted intercoller. It would feed cold air (if it was functional) directly over the OTE pipe and spark plug cover. The Evolve grill, which I also don't like, at least vents air over an open intake.
I just don't get this thing at all. It's not a muscle car. Hell, even when I had my F150, I avoided these things. Why would I glue something to my hood that would increase wind resistance?

Re: Looking for a hood scoop...look no further than the c30? (T5 for Life)

Based on the mounting point and the airflow, it would cool down the turbo as well. What I don't get is orange wheels, vinyl.. but then a clean simple scoop is too much?
