Does anyone know how to remove the windshield sensor cover in front of the rear view mirror without breaking it?

I am trying to find switched 12v and ground to hardwire a radar detector. I think that I can get 12 v from the dome light area but it would be a shorter and easier routing if I could get it from the sensor pod in front of the rear view mirror. Has anyone done this or at least removed the sensor cover?

I have a 2017 V60 Polestar.

Thanks in advance

I found it much easier to route the wiring along the A pillar and tuck it behind the A pillar and above the headliner. Easier to install and remove as did not want to try accessing wiring behind the rearview mirror. Was worried that cover may not snap back and be as secure. And tapped into the fuse panel below the dash.

I've been happy with my Escort Passport 9500ix. Its the older version and does not have bluetooth but does have a GPS database of warnings and is often on sale for around $250
