Look what I found.... (FMIC content)

FMIC! Installed it today, took about 12hrs in total, which includes 2 trips to the store, and sending a specific piece out to a friend to fab, which was approx 2hrs. It went relatively smoothly, and I didn't seem to have any problems.

My Plans? NEW Wheels, add a logo to the front mount. And I think i'm done after that.... I'll get some sick pictures tomorrow

I hope you guys

have you drove around with it yet? - Yes, I have, I haven't gone WOT, nor have I done a datalog to see the IAT. It sounds cool though, you can hear the air.

PS: wuts up with the middle part of the bumper on the bottom flexing out like that - I think it's just a bad picture. I'm gunna go look at it, because I know the R has the "doopy" problem.

They are always crooked because it's a huge pain in the a$$ to make it straight. I did the best I could.

No, it's all custom, done by myself. I got the intercooler from a buddy, and custom fabricated all the piping.

Very impressive, can you post more pics of the piping?

Also did you have to move the rad. or AC?

Yeah, I was curious, I knew R owners had a was to fix it but I wasn't sure how they did it.

Yes, It's really simple. You just remove the stock intercooler, (It's between the AC and radiator) and you move the AC backwards and use about 1/2" washers to mount it to the radiator. The A/C condenser on the left gets in the way of IC piping, so you have to modify the bracket. I will get pics up later on the piping. I took some along the way, but didn't really get any of the finished product.

Yeah, here are the pics of the behind the scenes. I didn't move the rad, but I did have to move the AC back a little to the place where the stock IC is. I just put some washers in to lift it off the rad a little.

One last question, did you have to trim the bumper cover and if so, how much?

Edit - now that I look closer it appears that you have an "R" front end, is that correct?

Yeah, I trimed like an inch of the bumper at the bottom part of the low intake. If you looked behind an R bumper, it's not a big deal, its not even painted from the factory. It looks awesome in person. And yes, it's an R bumper. I got it for really cheap, and it works out really well to fit an intercooler.

Re: (cmurphy2266)

Here are some pics of the piping and the process to get the piping installed.

These pictures are the left side (Some look weird cause they are from under).

These pictures are on the right side.

This last picture is what the washer looks like that separates the rad and the A/C condenser.

You should sell the intercooler piping as a kit.

I didn't do the welding myself, I simply fabbed it up and sent it out. I'm really not in the best position to do that. As much as I want to help out other Volvo guys, I really can't sell the piping, and really wouldn't financially feasible for me to sell it. If someone wanted me to make it for them, I would certainly consider it, or if someone wanted me to help them with the install, I would be more than happy to help.
