Hi my name is Steve, I just wanted to introduce myself and maybe add a little to the forums.
As I said, I have been a lurker for quite some time now, gaining some important information (use Google Search 'I got it').
Some things have come up recently with my R that I feel I can no longer keep to myself. I will be adding to some threads that are already underway.
I look forward to some more insight

Re: Long time lurker, first time poster (I 'R' not happy)

Welcome!
I would be interested in hearing the woes you associate with your CPO warranty. In mine and many others experience, the issue is not with the warranty, it is with the dealer. I personally have had way more replaced in value than I paid for the VIP warranty, which is very similar (albeit slightly reduced, supposedly) from the CPO warranty. Steering rack, bushings, SUM, wheel bearings, etc.

Well in a nut shell the slave cylinder/throw out bearing went bad 2 weeks ago and Volvo claims its 'part of the clutch' therefore it is a wear item and not covered.
At about 68k leaking strut---wear item no CPO coverage
However they did cover a bad wheel bearing, not sure how that is not a wear item
by the way current mileage is 78k

Especially the faulty slave cynder..
Waiting for more experience members to chime in on this one!

You need to lodge some complaints there. CPO is basically insurance. And guess what the first tactic of insurance is??? Deny.
The strut sucks because it costs a mint. But it is a wear item.
The only reason they covered the bearing is they had a known bad batch back then.

Ask to speak to the regional CPO / VIP rep.
Review this thread: http://forums.swedespeed.com/zerothread?id=119058 it's a known issue to VCNA.

Finally!!! After a month at the dealer my car is finally back to me. Everything is back together and working fine. Not only did everything get covered under CPO, but the money that I laid out for a leaky strut that was replaced about 6 months ago and the alignment that went along with it is being reimbursed by Volvo . Yeah over $800 back in my pocket! One down side, the tow company that dropped my car at the dealer pulled one of winglets loose . I guess I will be fixing that this weekend
