You mistreat some equipment and expect others to fix it for you? Good thing you don’t work for me, or are anywhere near me. It’s this kind of nonsense that makes insurance premiums rise and warranty benefits drop.
Nothing ticks me off more than watching people destroying stuff and then expect others (usually me, as I’m in the IT and service industry) to fix it for them because they are too ignorant to know how. Fu*kers.
And, how old are you?!
regards,
MAJ

Is the guy in this video your brother or close relative?
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v...drift
Because you're almost as smart as he is, but I'm sure he takes full responsibility for his stupidity and not blame his car or the car company.

Broke the Geartonic now broke the car... I wish volvo had a smartypants removal option. In the words of a famous comic Ron White: you can't fix stupid.

Some news: seems like the brake disk is ok now, but the DSTC light is still on and some noises from the back (there has been some for few weeks now)

Re: (gg)

I race cars, I fixed my own clutch, "hard" => first soft 1/4 mile run. IMO a car should be able to take some 1/4 runs which are nothing more then soft launch street fights would do. I don't think trying to drift a Volvo makes any sense, FWD or 4WD get yourself an old RWD Chevy Camaro
Why don't you start a poll is
1/4 racing carzy for a T5 Volvo
is
drifting crazy for a T5 2WD Volvo
is
dirting crazy for a T5 4WD Volvo
is
AutoX crazy for a T5 Volvo
or maybe what type of "normal" racing should a chipped Volvo be able to do?
AutoX 2x a year
1/4 mile 2x a year
10 street fights a year
No matter the poll DRIFTING will be tossed into I'm a idiot league of life.

So noted I do race, I changed my own clutch, I would expect the OEM clutch to take some 1/4 "abuse". I would not expect a Volvo to be able to drift with the handbrake yanked up, with an idiot driving and the DSTC / STC left on too. Hope your car was not a 4WD
"Dynamic Stability and Traction Control (DSTC) is a sophisticated stabilization system which, in addition to the STC functions, intervenes and corrects any tendency to skid. A number of sensors monitor the rotational speed of all four wheels, the driver's steering wheel input -- e.g. the steering angle -- and the course of the car. The DSTC control unit processes these signals and, if any deviation from the norm is detected, such as the start of a rear-wheel skid, the system intervenes and gently activates the brakes to the appropriate wheel to put the car back on course again. It also reduces engine power if necessary. "

meaning the whole system was built so the car would not drift. I can assure you the T5 was built to street fight and agile enough to autoX, at least there was no system specifically designed into the S40 so that it can't be 1/4 mile raced, unless you assume the 1/100 clutches just fall apart for some reason as a 1/4 prevention device, I don't know how Volvo had the ESP to put the clutch into my car.

Re: lol my car died today (gg)

uhh... yeah... gg, youre quickly making many enemies by doing stupid stuff with this beautiful car and THEN telling a whole group of people who LOVE the car. We all love to let loose and have a little fun with our cars now and then, but it sounds like youre just trying to fudge her up.
and drifting with an s40? thats just stupid. why dont you just tell your parents to buy you a 240 or something to fudge around with? please just take care of the car. they already stated everything i wanted to say in the earlier replies...
