2006 for $32,000, not sure on the features but ragardless thats seems very good. There was some special on them, they were $6k cheaper than the used ones they had, yes i know they rip off their customers with used cars but it still interesting.

There's a price swing of around 10 THOUSAND dollars for the R, all depending on equipment. So yeah, I'd say knowing the equipment is a big key to knowing whether or not that's a good deal.

I saw those two... a silver one and a black one. Both are pretty basic- I believe one doesn't even have Premium. Both are GT. They also have uber-lame dealer added pinstripes on them....
The dealer had one Passion R in the showroom- loaded- P/S/C/Clim/Nav/18's.... They wanted $41K
They also had a really nice Sonic Demo... that was $38K with a few thousand miles.
It appeared to me that overall, they didn't really want to deal, just pass off what they could not sell.

I could understand it if we were talking about the C70 . . . but the "type" R, LOL, no way.

Re: Local dealer has 2 brand new R's for... (R Salesman)

Yes.....Way. A dealership in California had a customer wanting an XC 90. My dealer in Reno, Bill Pearce, had one and did a dealer swap. The other dealer didn't have anything that the Reno Dealership really wanted so they took a V 70 R. When it arrived, they cleaned it up and put it on the showroom floor. It sold in 1 hour for full MSRP. (2006 Titanium, Gobi, GT). oclv

So essentially what I'm hearing is the whole $10K off S60R thing is sort of bogus and only a few people have actually got a super good deal? A friend of mine that looked into this said something about it is up to the dealer how much of the $10K incentive they want to pass along to the customer. Is this deal expired?
Re: (Michael from Sweden)

What's really sick is what R's are bringing at auction, the average is $23K to $25K for 04's There's a Blk/ Nord, loaded 04 in St'Louis with Nav, Roof, heated seats, premium sound Automatic wit 20,000 miles and the asking price is $30K. I have an 04 just the same with a 6 speed and it stickered for about $48K and I bought it for $40K and thought it was a good deal, I think I'll be buying used from now on.

Wow $32k for an S60R? That sounds great. Since when did the prices come down so low? Is this due to the near release of the 07's? We got ours via OSD last August for 5k more (with options). At $32k maybe I should I get a second R!

Just got my Titanium Grey 2006 S60R with about $12k+ off of the sticker price on a 3 year lease from Volvo of Santa Monica, CA (Great Guys!) Anyway, the deal is true.... and I even got the upgrade to 18" for free since someone who bought a car with the 18's earlier switched them out for 17's. Essentially, this deal combined the $3000 factory to dealer incentive, $2000 conquest cash, $1500 loss to the dealer, $2000 difference from invoice to sticker, and the rest came from Volvo's incentive to the customer to lease from any other bank BUT Volvo.
KIller deal. Amazing. Only downside is I have one of the few $45k cars built in the last 10 years without heated seats.

Perhaps this is no more?

Woops! I made a mistake. I was tired when I got back from the dealership.
I checked my lease paperwork. The MSRP on the car is $43,785. The CAP Cost (sale price, before reductions/down payment) on the lease was $27,872
I actually got a price reduction of $15,913
I also got the 18" wheels for free, not included in the above pricing....so really $16,913 discount.
With 8.25% Tax and inflated registration costs and other fees, and adding into the payment Bluetooth and Ipod Connector:
36mos, 15k/yr, $3000 Out of Pocket, $381 per month including taxes. Amazing.
This lease was cheaper than a TSX Navi @ $29,500 (when the selling price is invoice!)
