Do any of you guys know how the companies measure how many liters a car puts out. Like the Volvo 850 T-5. How exactly do they figure out that it puts out 2.3 litres. Anyone know?

Putting out is acctually called displacement. It is measured by the amount of space the piston goes up and down. Using the geometry formulas an my car I show you.
My car example (745 inline 4 turbo b230ft)
pi x Radius of Piston(48mm) squared = Area of Piston Surface(2304pi mm squared)

Area of Piston Surface(2304pi) x Stroke(80 mm) = Displacement of Cylinder(184320pi mm cubed)
Using 3.14 for Pi = Displacement of Cylider(578764.8 mm cubed)
Displacement of Cylinder(578764.8 mm cubed)
x Four Cylinders = Total displacement(2315059.2 mm cubed)
Total displacement(2315059.2 mm cubed) / 1 million mm Cubed = 2.3150592 liters
Hey it worked! 2.3 liters
