No I am not referring to myself....can someone describe what this is and when/why it occurs? I never had this on my S&),,,drove it for week with CEL on. Why wouldn't the CEL reset when I unhooked the battery?
Thank you
Gracias
Merci
Grazie
When you throw a CEL the data is stored in the memory of the computer so that regardless of what happens the event is stored now in some cases the ECM and other modules will reset to a base setting and then relearn certain functions as with the TCV when you disconnect the battery or pull ceratin fuses... In your case it may be more serious and will by the sound of it require an OBD-II reader and or a hook up to VIDA at the dealer or INDY... Either way you need to find out what it is especially if that CEL sent your R into LIMP mode... Good luck.
Limp Mode happens for numerous reasons.
If your car was in "Reduced Performance" mode you would know it.
A CEL usually means something is wrong with your emissions system.
Like the previous post stated, get your car to someone who can read all the codes (Volvo Dealer) because your basic OBD-II reader will not do the trick.
