I'm interested in changing the front parking light bulbs on my 2001 S40 to ones that are brighter. My friend has a Subaru Impreza 2.5RS, and he bought these Raybrig bulbs from Japantown in Los Angeles. His parking lights are now just as bright as his headlights when you look at them.

I also want to change the rear turn signal bulbs.

Does anyone know what type of bulb the S40 uses? Also, which brands are good?

The owners manual for your S40 should show exactly what kinds of bulbs your car uses. I think the best bulbs are made by Philips and Sylvania. PIAA also makes some good unique aftermarket bulbs. If the bulbs that you want are over stock wattage, be careful because they might melt the plastic housing inside of the light casing. It you get anything that is coated blue or light blue, it will actually decrease the performance of your headlights. Check out this site for the best lighting information:
