Greencow, did you have a tweeter there before the boost gauge? If so, does it make a big difference in sound quality?
I did have a tweeter there, yes. I disconnected it, and drove it around for awhile just to make sure it wasn't going to bother me. It didn't, the difference in sound quality is negligible at best. Having the gauge was worth more to me than one tweeter.Greencow, did you have a tweeter there before the boost gauge? If so, does it make a big difference in sound quality?
PowerFor the power or to get the wires into the cabin?
@ greencow - looks awesome!
Is there a way to keep the tweeter and still have the gauge pot there?I did have a tweeter there, yes. I found it was simple enough to tie into the light cluster for the power as the location of my pods was close by.Power

The gauge is to deep, you can get low profile gauges, and then you'd probably be able to retain the tweeter. Is there a way to keep the tweeter and still have the gauge pot there?
A while back I removed the material and painted the pillars. So I finished up my pod and installation yesterday.
After taking apart the A pillar, I realized that the airbag is mostly in the curtain and only tethered to the base of the A pillar. There's also a strap that prevents the pillar from moving more than 2 inches at the top, so mounting a gauge to the base of the pillar shouldn't be an issue at all, so long as it's well secured.

I cut two holes in the pillar and trimmed/mounted a universal pillar pod from the inside. I then bondoed the entire pillar to fill the gaps between the pods and re-enforce the structurally-weakened pillar.

A lot of sanding later, I then covered both pillars in felt.

I then wrapped them in material (I will be replacing my headliner with the same material soon) and mounted everything in the car!

So good. This is inspiring me to start my own project.A while back I removed the material and painted the pillars.
Recently I added the light shields to my gauge pod, then filled in the gaps to make it look solid.

I guess we have lots of matching stickers!Couldn't help but notice that I have the same "Objects In Mirror Are Losing" sticker.![]()
lol, they're not mine. Some dude did it to his kid's Power WheelsNICE! Potentially optimistic or pessimistic speedometer and four circular-gradient-ometers.
I can't tell from the pic, where did you choose to mount it?
