My dad complains about how incredibly dusty the factory pads are but I can't see him paying for new pads to fix that since his factory pads still have a lot of life left.

I saw these on FCP:

They fit my budget and would be a Christmas gift for my dad, I just was hoping others might be able to give their experience with these or any other low dust pad options priced similarly. There is no need for braking capacity to increase, only concerns are low dust and no noise

I had them on my 2005 S60 2.5T FWD for 3 years (2019 to just recently) and 100k+kms (so 62k+ miles) of driving. They held up really well and was a lot less dust than others used. I had them in conjunction with Brembo rotors and not even a lip on the rotors after all the use. Good grab and no fade. Well worth it.

I'm trying to find the email from when I bought composite Brembo pads (and rotors) to see what part #s they are, but they're Brembos, they;re composite, and they're way less dust than whatever pads were on the car when I bought it

I'm on my "3rd" set of Akebono Ceramics and they dust significantly less than the OE sets. 80k miles overall (never finished the first set before switching to R Brembo's, second set was at 50% when installing the Brembo's, and Just swapped to a new set). They last pretty long and dust very little. Stopping power is good enough for my needs - daily driving.

I'm running EBC red stuff and new Brembo rotors and they have been good with low dust, decent performance on the P2VR.

I would like to update this post with a success. Got dad the Brembo 8634921 pads from FCP for $47, and they are great. He said it was almost an unnoticeable, teeny tiny reduction in immediate braking power (which is a plus in both of our opinion, p2's seem to be incredibly touchy and can be unpleasant at times) with a HUGE reduction in dust. His daily commute is round trip 36 miles, with ~10 of those miles being in the city. On the OE pads, they would be completely dusted over in maybe 4 days?

This is a picture of the wheels after two weeks on that commute, with zero cleaning and 1 day of rain. The OE pads would have made the wheels completely gray with 2 weeks of driving. They are rear wheels with OE pads in the back are dirtier than the fronts with these ceramics. He likes them so much he just had me order a set for the rear!

My grandma actually had a similar complaint with her NA 04 s60 so I got some DuraLast ceramics for her car (Brembo wouldn't arrive in time) so i am very curious to see which ones dust lest and perform better. Brembo was actually cheaper than the duralast

Looks muccch better! I replaced mine for the same reason, and there was a vibration to be vanquished as well.

Oh, found the details from mine (they were sets) - Front: Set: 1420-54738, Pads: P 86 016, Rotors: 09.8633.11, Rear: Set: 1420-55007, Pads: P 86 014, Rotors: 08.7765.11

Looks like the same pads that you bought: BRE-P86016N
