Hi all,

I'm pretty new to this forum and wanted to show my Volvo V50 2.0 diesel from 2005.
So here is my progression thread.

My love for Volvo started when I first drove with a friends S60 from 2006.
I really liked the look of it, it has a timeless design to it. And the ride was so damn comfortable!

The first car I drove was a Seat Ibiza 1.9SDI van 98' that I got for free.

Image

Few months later I crashed it against a new Audi A4.

Image

After that I wanted a more reliable and better looking car. :p
Some researching later I found a V50 with not a high mileage and a decent price.

The first change I made was Plasti Dipping the stock grill.

Image

Image

The stock halogen headlights are pretty crappy. So I changed the bulbs to xenon.
I've read the thread about that aftermarket xenon could wreck your wiper motor.
So I went to the dealer to change the software so I could turn of the lights.
And added these capacitors to have no canbus errors.

Image

This was the result.
Sorry for the crappy pic. Higher res pictures will follow.
Left: Xenon
Right: Stock halogen

Image

A quick and easy mod was changing the number plate lighting.
Left: Stock
Right: Leds

Image

The bulbs in the side marking lights weren't very strong, so also changed them to led.

Image

A few weeks later I gave the car new oil and front brake disks and pads.

Image

Bought some new stuff to maintain the paint.

Image

First claying the paint.

Image

And then applying the wax.
Unfortunately I don't have any pics of the beading effect.

Image

My V50 has the High Performance audio system but I still wanted to upgrade the speakers that are in the doors.
I had already 2 Helix RS806 Competition speakers laying around in my garage.
And bought some sound dampening.

Image

Fitted the damping.

Image

Take a look in this thread for more info about that -> http://forums.swedespeed.com/showthread.php?206710-Speaker-replacement

The car has around 145k kilometers on it now. And since the beginning the EGR and inlet were never cleaned.
So I took apart the inlet piping and cleaned them out.
The inlets between the injectors were incredibly dirty.
I tried to clean them as much as I could

And finally here are some pictures of my car. :D

I will try to keep updating this thread as I make more changes to my Volvo.

Thanks for watching.

All done with Meguiars Gold Class Leather & Vinyl Cleaner #G18516.

I'm going to have to get some of that Meguiars stuff!

Does it dry out the leather any?

Saw this the other day on a swedish forum, a girl who bought a S60 2.5T. She said she would clean the seats as they were quite filthy, didn't look THAT filthy to me.. Until:

Oh god! That is a bit worse than mine. :p

Wow. How did you disassembly the inlet :D ?? Need to do the same for my 2.0D...
Just unscrew all the bolts of the plastic inlet on the top. Disconnect the connectors of the injectors and oil pan ventilation tubing. Then wiggle the inlet back and forth to get it out of place. There will be a metal bracket in the rear left corner of the engine bay that will be in the way, just bend it a little bit so you can remove the inlet.

That's what I did but it didn't come loose :(
I'm scared to break something.

Btw do you have fb ? There is a Volvo meeting this May ;)
(Ik ben ook van België :D )

The plastic inlet is pretty strong, don't worry of breaking it.
First I sprayed a lot of brake cleaner in it and then let it soak for 10 minutes.
I cleaned it with a Karcher high pressure washer afterwards.

Just received the rear camber kit that I ordered from Ebay.

Image

Looks like someone removed something from the arm.
Could it be from SPC?

Image

And for the first time, my car wen into an elevator. :D
That was a pretty weird experience.

Nice! I went silver on my calipers. Small engine = small brakediscs = not much to show. :D so I thought silver would make a fresh look to it instead of the show off thingie.
