After much consideration and research on the S60, we finally took the plunge yesterday. We did a lot of pricing via internet and finally went to Lehman Volvo in York, PA for a test drive. I would like to say that we have never had such a pleasant auto purchasing experience. They were outstanding people, applied no pressure, accommodated our requests (24 hour test drive), offered an outstanding deal that actually required NO negotiation on my end! Unbelievable! We have already had our other car (S40) to their place for servicing and are very happy with that end of the business as well. Anybody in south central PA or even parts of Maryland looking at Volvos, I would definitely recommend a visit to Lehman Volvo. I believe they also have a location closer to Harrisburg as well.

Yes, they are VERY nice people. Their other location is in Mechanicsburg. Congrats on your new car! What color? Don't tell me...SILVER!
Yannis

Re: Lehman Volvo, York, PA - high recommendations!!! (GrecianVolvo)

White with gray interior! Not my first choice of exterior color, but for base model with 5 speed manual transmission, I did not have much choice. Actually, with the black trim, it does look sharp. Then again, I think an S60 in any color would look sharp .

Which dealership is it that has the new Saab showroom and Volvo repair facility off of 322 between Hershey and Harrisburg? Is that Lehman? I always forget.
BTW, welcome to Swedespeed and good luck with your new purchase.

We too had a wonderful experience at Lehman in York! Bob was low pressure and offered great deals without me having to request much of anything. His CPO extended warranty price was well under Steingold's even with the Swedespeed code. We're enjoying our CPO S90 T6! This was extra refreshing after a horrible experience at White Marsh in MD.

Hey, if you don’t mind can you tell me why your experience at white marsh was less than desirable? I’m about to fly this weekend to buy from them. Thanks in advance

Gladly! I was doing my homework online and getting my details together as I was shopping on a tight schedule and a longish distance of about 2 hours each way. I said I'd like to know of any faults the car may have up front and would love someone to take a walk around the car and photo and flaws for me. They seemed great and said they'd take a video of the car for me. They did, but it was mostly a fluff piece about how perfect it was, pointed out no flaws, and said it was a great car wow blah blah blah. So we make the trip down and immediately the car is dirty (no big deal), has parking rash on the side, and a crease in the rear bumper from a poorly repaired crunch. When I pointed these things out they just chewed up a bunch of my time saying "the car passed our 7000 (or something) point inspection and is in great condition!" and whatever I was seeing was irrelevant. No effort whatsoever to apologize for wasting our time or adjust to try to make a deal happen. We walked and they said nothing, not even thanks for driving 2 hours each way to see their car.

A week later we found a similar S90 T6 with half the mileage in much better shape at Lehman. They went the extra mile repeatedly—without me having to ask for anything—to make sure the car was in the absolutely best shape it could be inside and out. Went from one of the worst dealers experiences I've had to the absolute best with no effort.

Lehman has a nice sale guys but seriously let us down in service on an XC40 Recharge that’s riddled with glitches.

I too had a great experience at Lehman back in May when I was looking for a reasonably priced V90 T6 Inscription. Bob and Wayne made the entire process pleasant and answered every question I had (there were many, just ask them ). When you consider the used car bubble we were/are in, I got a great deal on a CPO with 4,700 miles on it that was being used by the service manager. We had to drive 2 1/2 hours to look at / get the car and I couldn't have been happier. The car was exactly as advertised and CLEAN inside and out. Best car buying experience I've ever had. Nothing worse than driving or flying a long way and being disappointed with the car or the purchase experience.

Now being 2 1/2 hours away I will have no experience with their service department. 1morerobot - hopefully your issues with the XC40 get sorted out. It sure stinks going from one end of the spectrum to the other at the same dealer...

Yeah, we bought a V60 CC in March that has been lovely.
The XC40 Recharge we got 3 weeks or so ago has been a real gremlin (GPS and LTE/Wifi shutdowns, and some charging issues, inability to resolve through the various rebooting strategies that are commonly needed in XC40 Recharges, which are a bit of a half-baked product).

We're about the same distance from Lehman of York as you are. We initially tried to take it to a closer dealership, but they took a look at it and basically said take it back to the dealer you bought from and make it their problem ("if you had bought from us" they said — that would be Stillman Volvo in West Chester PA). Lehman basically did a battery disconnect and reset and gave it back to us. By the next day, it was going nuts again. It probably needs a new piece of hardware. According to the salesman, this was the first Recharge sold at their location, so when we brought it back, they were relying on the Volvo service hotline for procedure.

Volvo Customer Service stepped in it when they followed up with me that a faulty module had been replaced at Lehman (it hadn't, but apparently they had all talked about it). So they know what's up, but they decided to cheap out and just send it home with a reboot and see if that shut us up.

Between driving to the first dealer, then being sent to Lehman, then heading home with a loaner, then back to Lehman and back home, it was 10 hours behind the wheel and ruined two days. To get a car back that still has electrical issues.

We spent about $100K on cars at Lehman within a 6 month period. Now we're just a nuisance. The owner of the dealership left me a voicemail that basically wrote us off as he wished us well. They not only lost a couple of customers for their dealership, but they lost Volvo two lifelong customers (6 out of 6 cars I've ever bought were Volvos).

Was this a CPO?
