Walking up to my car last night and I noticed that the inside part of my left rear tire has some odd wear on it as compared to the rest of the tire. I've had the tires rotated front to back and back to front with alignments done within the past 3 months. Is my alignment off again?

Same thing I am dealing with now. I had to rotate back, the noise was so bad.

I have the good year eagle f1 AS on my car. The currently have about 17k miles on them. Plenty of tread left but now I have this odd wear on them. I am not lowered and the car has been aligned twice this year so far.

Might be a defective tire.
Is it some weird diagonal wear?

I'm pretty sure it has the cupping appearance to it. It's on the inside of the tire and goes about 1.5 inches in towards the middle of the tire

Re: (chinaonnitrous1)

Considering that the tires had been rotated a few times in last couple of months and only one tire developed a bald spot I would rule out worn struts.
Re: Left rear tire (hoagrod)

Tire issues were one of the reasons I just traded in a 2004 V70R on a 2007 S80 V8. Cupping, and the associated road noise were driving me nuts. New tires would take care of things.....until they started cupping, of course. Bent wheels were another issue. The S80 V8 is much more comfortable...has that great V8 torque, but I have to admit isn't as much fun to "throw around" as the V70R. Good luck with your tires. ES
