Well guys the S60R is done unless my mom decides to drop a V8 into it!
Here is a closeup of the steering wheel I changed, I loved it and it IMO completely blows away
the factory wheel in every respect.
The next mod was glassing in the EVOLVE rear spoiler, I will not get into the workmanship issue as it
has been well-documented here on this board, but I could nost stand it and had it corrected. It looks OEM now...in fact better as it completely flows with the car.
I completed 1/2 dozen or so other mods which ranged from the painting of the Volvo slash and engine bay to
some power mods that are just about finished. The problem is I have lost interest as I bought a RS4 ( Sprint Blue and a PRISTINE 1989 M3 for the track) so if I can pry the AMG from my mom ( former owner C43) she will get the newer R for her daily. Otherwise it will be our utility car, I would not dare call it a beater..the AMG yes.
Anyway I will stopby from time to time if for nothing else to read the great posts and my friend in Canada's upcoming post on how he raped a RS4!
Best to you all!

Re: Last of my S60R mods (ForceReconTrojan)

I for one think FRT has one of the best looking R's on here and I wish I could see it in person. Sorry to see you go and post pics of the RS4 when you get it! That's my dream car right there.

Im gonna side with junior on this, I dont like the tinted tail lights, or the tail light trim for that matter. I dont think that it looks ricey if u do, just my preferance (hope I spelled that right!!). But I also much prefer the rear wing with the body kit, to the spoiler, so what do I know?

Re: Last of my S60R mods (PhilUp)

Well my mom is really attached to the C43 and I think she has the Benz complex as well..I think the R would be a great upgrade for her ( heck its free to her) but if not it will remain with me for quite sometime.
I would have pics of the RS4 and M3 for that matter but my VAIO died and I sent it to Sony...with my 8GB CF card and guess what? it did not make it back home with the newly repaired computer. I just need to order another and write a letter to Sony that they will promptly ignore.
Anyway, thanks for the compliments.

i think Jon's S60R looks great. i usually don't like color matched wheels..but those Ronal's look great on his car. Jon's S60R shows how nicely the OEM body kit can look iwth a few minor tweaks.

I like the car Force. Nice how you change the R on the front grill to match the red in the rims.
Can you post a shot of the rear? I haven't remember seeing one. It looks to me like the Volvo looks like a turbo badge...pretty cool

Re: Last of my S60R mods (KillerB)

Sorry to repost, but I just noticed the fins on the lower rear bumper. We were giving suggestions to another member a while back that pulled the front spoiler off. One of them was the fins that I see here. Do you remember where you got them?
Thanks

ForceTrojan: You're going to give that car to your Mom? Damn man, she's alright!
And curious, why do you think that the new wheel is so superior. It looks the same, so it must be the materials?

Quote, originally posted by Serdar-S60T5 »

the steering wheel is really nice. leather all over as far as i see. but will that cause any problems if ever god forbid that airbag has to open one day?

The factory wheel is leather on the rim. I know all Jon did was switch out the wheel rim and leave the airbag cover and boss the same, so he shouldn't have any airbag problems.

Re: Last of my S60R mods

Car looks great but ironically I don't like the new wheel.
It could just be the picture, but the perforated leather looks like a lighter gray than in the rest of the car (doesn't match), it has blue stiching on the airbag cover that doesn't carryover into the wheel and the silver accent is nice...but lost in the gray cover or something. Someone here did something similar by creating silver accents with some kind of 'tape', right? The end result on that looked better, IMHO.
Every thing else? Awesome. And, I still can't believe I actually like a set of Ronals! lol
Have fun with the Bimmer and the RS4 and return with some pics soon!
-Eric

Did you really have to quote his msg with all the pics in order to say that you like the car? Thankfully, I'm on broadband...but geez.
-Eric

Re: Last of my S60R mods ("R" Kelly)

Thanks Kelly & Sean
I'm sorry I used the word ghetto, I let the kid and pet monkey get the better part of me last night. I actually like both of your cars very much.
Besides Kelly hooked me up with the first set of folding mirrors!
The DJ is gone! I could no longer take the shrill. In fact Volvo NA sent me a check for 2K for that and SIRRUS because they know its a problem. The regional rep looked at it and shook his head and said "refund" I am very lucky as this guy also approved new leather for my front seats from the bolster wear as well. Now my car with 11K on it smells new too!
The problem is the pass through picks up noise. I found that if you daisy chained off the Nav to one unit it was fine. But I had Sirrus in between and it was horrible. For awhile I just would unplug the one I wanted, but how stupid is that? Now I have the IPD cable with a iPod and a SIRRUS S50 which while not as tight as factory...far more useful in display and I can use it as a walkman too.
Sorry I do not have better news on this.
