Has anybody had any experience with these tires? How good are they?
Considering these as a replacement for the Stock Michelin's which have pretty much had it @ 30,000 miles
Thanks,
Nelson

Re: Kumho ECSTA ASX (gargantula99)

I had them on my Protege ES and loved them. I think they would be a nice fit for your S40. The only problem I noticed with them was that they had a bit more highway noise than the 720's (Supra's) I had on the car before this. But they were by far better than them.

I was going to put them on my XC70 but Oscar pointed me to the Yoko. Avid V4S. I can't say if they are better than the Kumhos, though the TireRack owner reviews give them higher marks, but I'm happy with them. They are a bit more expensive but may also last longer.

Re: Kumho ECSTA ASX (jackf)

I don't think the Yok's come in my stock size and I don't want to jump to anything wider for fear of Volvo voiding the warranty!

Re: Kumho ECSTA ASX (gargantula99)

Great ride, great grip.... A tad more noise on grooved pavement.... Great price!!!
They don't last quite as long as some of the competition (usually about 3/4 life of a top rated michelin), but typically they are soooo much cheaper for the same performance...
Especially for my V70 T5's 235/45/17's; the kumho's were $89 ea at tire rack, everything else with a decent rating was $129-$199...
I can highly recommend these, I use them on all of my vehicles... Prior to the ASX model, all I used was the older Kumho Supra's...

I think the Kumho's will work on the smaller car better than the V/XC70's...just my $.02...but think they are a really wise choice for an S/V 40/50 Volvo!

Re: (MadeInJapan)

Thanks,
I appreciate all of the input! I think I am going to get them. At that price, it's hard to go wrong.
