Was browsing around the internet and I ran across this. I've never seen anything like it. Would something like this be even useful for our cars?
http://www.killerchiller.com/

I don't think we run enough boost to need more cooling than the FMIC, and even an Aquamist can provide.
You could go with something simple like a co2 or n2o sprayer that sprays the intercooler. Thats much simpler and probably more effective than we actually need.

Re: (chinaonnitrous1)

My uncle works for a NASCAR driver and way back in the day he told me about something called a "cold charge" or a name similar to that. He said that it involved using your AC to get cold air into the intake. I kinda blew it off, but apparently it is something that people use, ha!

It puts more load on the engine to run the AC and will eat up any possible performance gain.
Just do this
http://jalopnik.com/photogalle...34913

Re: killer chiller (o2k)

Looks like some of their systems are refrigerant based, and would use the AC compressor, and others, what they call "electric", are Peltier type devices, which of course draw power from the alternator.
No free lunch, but a clever idea!

For you drag racers the best thing is to super-chill the intercooler right before making a pass. On the road or highway it wouldn't make much difference, aside from getting challenged off a stop light after sitting in scorching heat for a while.

Just try to invert a can of compressed air electronics parts cleaner to get the liquid form propellant to come out. Cold all right. Sitting in the staging lanes before making a pass can overheat a setup enough to kill it. Some people would find this well worth the investment.

Hmmmm.... That gives me an idea. Maybe before every impromptu stop light street race, I'll keep some cans of keyboard duster in the glove box, and have my girlfriend run out of the car, turn the can of spray upside down and hose off the intercooler!
