Hi!
I have quite a few questions leading up to a hoped-for buy of a Volvo V50!
This is kind of testing the water with my toe...
Which of the V50s come with this key that you can keep in your pocket whilst you unlock the car and drive off? Is it standard on all models at some point or strictly an option only?
Om det er noen som vil helst svare på norsk, kjør på!
Thanks!

It's an option. I can't think of many cars that it's standard on, if any.
I believe it's called "keyless drive", and I don't know if it automatically unlocks the car for you or not.

Re: (mofolicious)

It is an option for (2009 at least) and it's called Keyless Drive. I guess you could say it automatically unlocks the door for you if its in your pocket or near the door as when you press the unlock button on the outside of the door while having the remote the door unlocks.
The option is only available on the T5 as listed in my brouchure for 2009 model year, not certain about other model year but I'm guessing only optional and only on the T5??

Not trying to hi-jack your thread...but. Can anyone with Keyless drive tell me if there is a way to start the car to warm it up and still be able to lock and unlock the doors or is this not possible?

Thanks, I'm still not certain if you can lock or unlock while the engine is running though I guess I'll have to wait and see??

You Get two Keys with with the Keyless Drive , You can Lock and Unlock .
While Your In the Car , If You are Out of the Car - It Knows It and Will Not allow You to Lock Your keys in the Car . I did Not do a Lot of Testing of this but seems to be the way It Works .
You can Walk Right Up and Open the Doors with Key still in Jacket or in Case of Wife in Pocket Book - which She Loves .
Only Issue I have Ever Noticed is Once the Two Key were to close together in the Car , and so the was a Quick Moment of Confusion of Seat Position for that Person ,by the Car's Network .

Speaking of Network The Car Should Realize when Your Not In It and Open the Seats Back - to get In and Open the Seats Back to Get Out .
I tired to set this , and It works when Your in a Hurry and doesn't work when You are not in a Hurry or It Works when It Wants to ? Which
is a Bit Confusing , as It Seems No One Knows How to Set the Automatic Seat Back - Function ?

If you leave the car running and close the door with no key inside, the car will produce an audible tone through the speakers to let you know there is no key in the cabin. The car will remain running. I don't know for how long as I haven't tested it. I also haven't tested if you can still lock the doors while it does that.
As for a remote start system, I haven't looked into it. Most systems I know of require a key inside the car, and with the keyless drive you don't even have to look for it.
