Re: kept on spray painting (CURT)

Curt,
I was hoping you painted your foglight surrounds...I did it on my M3 and was wondering what it would look like. I don't like this much IMO.
However do tell about your grill, you obviously painted and debadged, I like. What did you do about the custome frigging holes Volvo saw fit to leave behind? Could you do a close up shot or two?
Much Thanks.

Re: kept on spray painting (JRL)

Do a search on "PICTURES" from the archives. There is a detailed description from Jimm Lill on how to do this. Don't worry about the guy 2 above, he is always like that!

Talk about going easy on the new poster.

I don't think it's too bad, but I'm afraid I'd think differently if I saw the job up close.

I don't mind THAT.
The grill does look a bit naked though. How about a Volvo emblem WITHOUT the slash?
DO not care for the fog light surrounds painted to match bodycolor. Although, on black, it does not look bad...of course.

Re: (phuz)

At least he limited it to the relatively inexpensive and easily replaceable parts. I say have fun with it if you're willing to replace parts that don't turn out so well, but it's time to stop the moment you consider spray painting the body of the car!!!

Painting the little fog light grilles to match the body color isn't too bad of an idea, at least on the 2005+ models with the body colored moldings. I do think the tail lights loose something without the little upturn adjacent to the trunk lid - it's one of my favorite design elements on the S60.

I wonder how the R emblem would look centered with no slash? Hmmm...

No, no. R on the side. Too simett-trickell in the center.

Re: kept on spray painting (CURT)

I swear it looks like the two middle rungs on the right fog light grill are white...

Too much body color IMO... I like he grill surround grey (did mine), but I like the darker contrast the grill and open fog light grills provide.

But hey, its your car, and if you like it, go for it.

Re: kept on spray painting ("R" Kelly)

It's fine, but darken the headlights and do the corner bulb deyolking to complete the picture.
