Due to the ease of purchase (local auto parts store) I bought the K&N filter cleaner and oiling kit to use on my BMC filter. Any reason I shouldn't use the K&N product on the BMC, or have people already been using this product?
Re: K&N filter cleaner/oil kit for BMC filter (StaggRLee)
I know the BMC filter is more of a solid type paper and the K&N is a perforated paper (more tiny holes). If you lightly mist a K&N filter and let it sit for 1-2 hours prior to reinstall all will be ok. If you use the same application for the BMC it will soak in more (because of it being a solid paper) so I would let that filter sit a little longer so the oil sets properly. The above statements are CORRECT about over oiling. If you do you sensor will be shot within a few miles of driving. I believe that BMC only recommends washing (not oiling after washing) I could be wrong though. Rick
BMC recommends washing and oiling the air filters every 25,000KM. We stock their cleaning kit:<p><IMG SRC="http://www.vivaperformance.com/catalog/images/bmc_cleaning_kit.jpg" BORDER="0"><p><A HREF="http://www.vivaperformance.com/catalog/product_info.php?products_id=552" TARGET="_blank">http://www.vivaperformance.com...d=552</A>

Re: K&N filter cleaner/oil kit for BMC filter (Britspeed)
I have been using K & N's cleaner and oil for my BMC air filter. I have not had any problems as of yet. But then again my 2004 S60 R has little over 7404 miles on it! <IMG NAME="icon" SRC="http://www.vwvortex.com/vwbb/smile.gif" BORDER="0">
