I just scheduled my 15k mile service for August 17. I made the appt this far in advance because we are headed on a road trip August 19 and I want to make sure I am able to get the car in and back.
Anyway - I'm going to have them do the service (with the M1 10w30 I will provide) as well as take care of a few issues: 1) blowing hot AC, 2) creeking driver seat and 3) a plastic bolt in the passenger footwell came loose and I can't get it tightened.
I'll let you know how it goes...

You mean the plastic bolt on the side that is supposed to hold the carpeting in place? If so, +1. I was able to put it back but it is not holding very tight. Just wiggling the carpet a bit and it pops back out.
I tried and it won't "stick." It pops right back out.

Maybe it's time to beat the hell out of it!!

Does yours seem to creak down by the joint near the drivers door where the seat and back meet. Creaks quite loudly if you press back into the seat or sometimes when moving off promply?

It sounds like it is coming from underneath on the right side of the driver seat.
Anyway - had the 15k mile service done. The service department did all the recommended maintenance and rotated the tires. I provided six quarts of M1 10w-30 synthetic.
Additionally, I had them look at three issues:
1) AC blowing hot air - fixed with software upgrade
2) driver seat creaks - I suggested they grease the tracks but instead they tightened some bolts but couldn't find anything out of the ordinary. It's still not fixed. I'll have too search for the reported fixes and take that in next time.
3) plastic screw that has came loose in passenger footwell was easily repaired with a new clip.
They also pulled some additional codes and downloaded three additional software fixes:
1) #30668282-4 ECM gasoline upgrade
2) #30667213-0 TCM upgrade
3) #30667202-3 CEM upgrade
Not sure what these are yet...I've got to do a search and see if anyone else has reported on them.
Good service experience overall. They provided an '06 V50 2.4i loaner which was very nice. for Motorcars Volvo (in Cleveland) service department.
