Just put in the new side markers, just went with a standard set from one of the online Volvo accessorizers, nothing to it. I did end up getting the IPD wiring harnesses, as they are very nice and simple to follow instructions with. Went with the amber side markers and inserted some yellow 194 bulbs, looks sharp.
Took about an hour to do it all, and that is just a half hour of scratching my head trying to figure out where to run the wires. Very clean and simple install...decided to wire them with the side marker and blinker option. Not a bad upgrade for about $65 total cost.

Can't find my software for the digital camera...it was very easy though...take a peek on eBay for some of the side markers, they are everywhere...the wiring harness and instructions from IPD is worth the cost...very concise and easy to follow, just tapping into the existing wires...without a doubt a simple upgrade

The wiring is simple.
If you splice both wires from the side marker into the turn signal wires, they will come on with the parking lights, and blink with the turn signals. If you splice one side of the side marker into the turn signal hot side, and ground the other side of the sidemarker, they will not come on with the parking lights, but they will blink with the turn signals.

$64 isn't cheap, I spent $16 shipping included on ebay to get a set of side markers that looks pretty much like stock ones, and $2 on wiring

It was a deal for me, the wiring harness is very nicely and cleanly put together...plugs right into the lights and has plastic conduit around the wires...I am glad you found a less expensive way to do it...but this way was reasonable for me.
