We are finally back in a volvo - a little faster than expected but back none the less

My wife was t-boned in a 2007 accord what was a total loss. So, we decided to get an xc90. we were torn between odyssey or xc90. Ended up with xc90 because of the price, safety and options.

We got a 2006 xc90, black sapphire, RES, premium, convinience, xenon, dolby - basically every option except for Nav. As much as i would have loved to have a nav - not many cars with the 2.5t comes with nav - more on the v8 side. The car has 39,000km on it and the warranty ends this november.

We will pick up our car this thursday and then off to get a new infant child seat installed (also had to buy a new one).

Now time to put some TLC in the truck when I get it. any suggestions?

VIP warranty - what in the world is volvo thinking when they jacked up the price by 2x????? I was planning to purchase the VIP but they wanted $5500!!! Can anyone shed light on this?

You bought a truck too? What did ya get?

So glad to hear you didnt get a T6 in the car, you will be happy with the 2.5. Plenty of power
for everything, and the best track record for reliability so far.

That seems awfully high. The VIP price is sometimes at the mercy of the individual dealership, not Volvo itself. I would call other dealerships for quotes.

Some dealerships in the Boston area were trying to charge for the CPO warranty even though Volvo said there was no additional charge. Sometimes the dealerships get quite greedy.

Canadian prices are higher.

The CPO warranty IS NOT FREE. It costs the dealer about $1000-1800 for the CPO warranty.

I did my homework - never the T6 engine. even several dealers says DO NOT get it. and a couple of those cars included a VIP 7/160 warranty from the original owner.

i did buy from volvo dealer. it was really up to me to take CPO or not. I do i have CPO for extra year, but really wanted the VIP, but not at the price it was given to me. and CPO - there is no special finance rates like before. I think volvo canada is making big mistakes about the pricing of VIP.

I believe you still have one year remaining on the factory 4yr/50K warranty. The CPO warranty extends the original factory warranty to 6yr/100K. How much did your dealer quote you for the CPO warranty?

our CPO - 5 years or 140k. So basically, it adds 1 year and 60k on the regular warranty. So is 1200 worth it for extra year of warranty and the car has only 33k?

hi there....I'm from Toronto too....I just picked up an 06 XC90 yesterday!!!!

good car for the kids and wife....

I opted to not get the warranty...too expensive....and i'll likely only drive the car for 3 or 4 years....plus I know a GREAT volvo mechanic whose always done some great work for my cars.

Shoot an IM...we should exchange notes to see how our 06 behave !
