I recently bought a 1997 black/black 850 R sedan. It had 670 miles on it!!!! I found it on autotrader.com and then visited the dealership (Paul's Motors, Inc. - Volvo), which I highly recommend. Chris Corrigan, the sales consultant, was a pleasure to deal with. I absolutely love it even though I originally wanted a R wagon. The interior was still wrapped in the original factory plastic!!! None of the 5 rims had any type of imperfection and the engine was clean as a whistle. The carfax report also came back clean. It came with a 2 year Volvo VIP warranty b/c the factory warranty already expired since it was originally sold in 11/1996. Just wanted to thank all of you on this messsage board who took the time to respond to my questions. I really do appreciate all of your help. I hope to post some of the many pictures I took soon. By the way....the "R" now has about 1200 miles on it.

I thought about that but there are already 2 850's in the area that have the silver. I wanted to go a different route. I like the silver but it would be too much in the area.

Very very nice, love all the red, get the sport grille that would look good, in a gray, black or red perhaps. Do you guys need to run front plates?

Well, no...the gun powder color wheels wouldn't look on your white car. Trust me, you can ask Matt, too...that set of Volan was in gun powder color, and it looks like $hit.

Hey Wait, so why isn't the white one around any more? Last time I checked mine was still in the garage... err well it's on its way to VA at the moment, but it's still here. Please tell me the white one is around, as I wanted to try to shoot it for a Feature. BTW Matt, we should do yours also. It's looking great. The wheels really make it... even if they are gray

Sean, When you said sport grille, who makes it and what does it look like? I wouldn't mind more flare in the front. Also, yes we do have to run front plates. I don't have one for now as I have ordered personal tags to replace my front one. (died in the accident) It will be there soon I hope. I do have a question for you though. I think that there is a guard for the front of the R bumper to protect the condenser. Does it work and look good or exist? How's your car doing? Any issues after the mods?

I would love to do a feature or something with my car. I just need a little more time to wrap up the HID lighting and DVD player. This new job is taking all of my free time! I should have had the car finished months ago. So much to do and so little time!

The white 850 is no longer in the area. (I stand corrected.) It should be back every now and then though. I'm going to miss the car too. Now I don't have anyone else to race with.

Terrence is now driving the almighty B4 RSK, the pumpped up turbo version of the Legacy. BTW, why is your car on the way to VA??

Matt, nah...I think Sean is talking about those grille from either IPD, SAM, or Heico. I didn't know you liked them....
Don't worry about no race from another Volvo..remember..I will have mine in just few days~!
