Joseph,
Is the color of your 95' 960 the same as mines? You can check the picture in my signature. If it is the same color, then it is called "Champaign Metallic". Also, there were two different reds on the 850 Turbo, in 96' "Bright Red" and "Regent Red". "Regent Red" is the darker shade of red.
-Drew

Thanks for the advice, Indy. My 960 is the same color as yours, so I'll change that to Champagne Metallic, and as for the 850 it's a really bright red, so I'll go for "bright red"
Thanks for the advice
that's better...

No problem, BTW, I think that the O1' Porsche color is called 'Basalt Black' if it is metallic (The solid color is just called 'Black') and the only blue that I know of for the 94' Miata is called 'Laguna Blue'. The 'M' edition color in 94' was called 'Montego Blue'.
-Drew

Haha! Okay, okay, I will give him a break, but I am always interested to find out the names companies use for colors. Where the heck do they come up with this stuff?
-Drew

There is NOBODY who I'd trust more to give accurate, specific, detailed car info than Drew!
The "color name" deal reminds me of the last time we painted the inside of our house. We figured we wanted "white." Big mistake. The paint store didn't have five or ten shades of white - they had five or ten BOOKS of different whites. Since my wife is Chinese-American, and I am... well All-American, we settled on "Chinese White" just for kicks. Turns out we really liked it too.
Just another story from the crazy "Darell Archives." OK, back to your regularly-scheduled sig-testing!

If you take a painted piece off and look at it alone, it looks like very light tan. No wonder the panels that have been repainted don't match. As you can see, the passengers side door is too dark (looks way off, but it's really not that obvious):
